Skulpturverein is a curatorial initiative by Berlin-based sculptors Yasmin Alt, Ulrika Segerberg, Hildegard Skowasch, and Gloria Zein that highlights the diversity and significance of sculpture. The project aims to create low-threshold access to the visual arts and to foster dialogue between artists and the public.
Since 2022, Skulpturverein has been organizing exhibitions and interventions in public spaces to experiment with new forms of presentation and documentation. Following the death of founding member Florian Japp, Skulpturverein has continued its work with a revised lineup since 2025. The works leave the traditional white cube and enter everyday life, where they interact with a broad audience—including those who are not part of the art world. These actions are intended to stimulate discourse and provoke thought.
In addition to traditional exhibitions, such as those at Kunstraum m3 and Spoiler Aktionsraum, the association has organized, among other things, a sculpture flash mob in the Königs-kolonnaden in Kleistpark and, in 2026, the “Ziehen & Schieben” (Pull & Push) event. Through such projects, Skulpturverein revitalizes neglected sites and reclaims open spaces within the urban landscape.
